New unified version of RDS Bar for browsers

A lot of time has passed since the RDS toolbar appeared. Initially it was intended as a Toolbar with SEO tools, designed only for Mozilla Firefox. Later the RDS panel was ported to the Google Chrome and Opera browsers, but it was inferior in functionality to the versions for Firefox. Extension from the moment of its creation allows you to conduct a fast and convenient analysis of sites and pages.

With the release of Firefox 57 the support for Legacy extensions, which is the original RDS Bar, has ceased. The only alternative ??was proposed a new API, similar to the API for Google Chrome.

Porting an existing extension would be very expensive and required significant changes. Especially it concerns the interface as the classic Toolbar was no longer available. To support the extension only for older versions of Firefox would be impractical.

As a result, it was decided to take the existing extension for Google Chrome and Opera as the basis for the new add-on. It differs from the original bar and is unusual for Firefox users.

There are also positive aspects of this event, now we will be able to focus on developing and supporting a single extension. This will erase the difference between the bars, add a new features and fix errors faster. In the near future we will migrate parameters and functionality from the original extension to the new one.

After that we will work on stability, optimization and the addition of new functions.

In the future, the add-on will be developed for browsers Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Yandex Browser and Vivaldi.

To create a new version, we have made changes to the base part of the extension. Unfortunately this led to some mistakes in his work, for which we apologize. This has become a good experience for us, in the next versions we will be more attentive to testing.

The Firefox team approved the addition of the Toolbar to the browser and is already working on a new API. After that the bar can return to its "native" place. Unfortunately other browsers do not plan to add Toolbar, to work with them we will search for the optimal solution.

During the transition to the new version of the bar, an additional beta version was created, which will allow testing it in advance. The beta version will be updated more often, replenished with useful features, but they will be available only to users of Firefox.
